Spirits of Fashion Newsletter, Issue #001 -- newsletter host has changed! September 23, 2025 |
Happy September! I hope that you enjoyed my first newsletter on this new platform. As I had mentioned, it will take me awhile to get used to the new format, so please bear with me! I am wonderring if any of you have seen Downton Abbey: The Finale movie. My friends and I saw it 2 days ago, and we dressed up in 1930s-inspired outfits, as the movie was set in 1930. If you are a Downton Abbey fan, I think you'll love it! Not to give anything away, but the ending made it for me! If course, the costumes were absolutely gorgeous! See it if you can before it leaves the theaters. See the images below of my friends and myself dressed up for the occasion plus images from the movie. As many of you may know, I am an Autumn and Halloween girl all the way! i am looking forward to the spooky season and to my annual trip to Salem in October. Can't wait! If you are looking for inspiration for your fall wardrobe, try Pinterest or Google for ideas. Similarly, if you dress for Halloween, try to visit the annual pop-up store Spirit Halloween, if you have one near you, for ideas. I have bought accessories there, but I prefer thrift store finds for my costumes because it's so easy to find unique garments and accessories to put together your own outfit. And, if you love vintage, don't neglect the Halloween section of your local thrift store(s), as they often have great vintage pieces there for very good prices! Below, be sure to check out my Did You Know...? section where each month I will give you some a surprising fact about costume history. Enjoy, and check out my schedule below.
